Community Food for Creswell Commercial Kitchen Nearing Completion

Three years ago CFFC was offered the opportunity to install a commercial kitchen within the Cobalt Activity Center. After attempting to find funding for the project as a City of Creswell Kitchen for six months, we decided it would be best to transfer the project to Community Food for Creswell. In October of 2018, the Creswell City Council approved a twenty-year lease with a five year renewal option, for Community Food for Creswell. The lease allows CFFC to rent the commercial kitchen to start-up businesses, provide cooking and food preservation classes, as well as provide a community meal. The fund-raising took a full year, with support from individuals, businesses, foundations, plant sales, food drives collecting cash donations as well, and much more. Demolition and renovations began on Christmas morning 2019. We will soon call for an occupancy inspection and apply for commercial certification from Oregon Health Authority. Updates will be posted soon!
